Nell'era odierna detta, per alcune scuole di pensiero, Antropocene, l'Uomo ha distrutto e continua a rovinare con le proprie mani il Pianeta dove esso stesso vive. In un momento storico in cui “il cambiamento è l’unica cosa permanente” (Zygmunt Bauman), la capacità dell’essere umano di adattarsi in modo proattivo all’ambiente diventa conditio sine qua non per la sopravvivenza. Mutare proprio come fanno gli insetti, che si ritiene siano tra i più antichi colonizzatori delle terre emerse, quindi i primi viaggiatori. “Atlas over Arteries” di Riccardo Bandiera è un progetto fotografico a metà strada tra un manuale entomologico e un “Atlante di geografia umana” in cui il corpo diventa metafora di un adattamento forzato, provocato dalla velocità con cui la Terra stessa muta e si trasforma proprio a causa delle azioni dell’Uomo. Il progetto raccoglie una serie di scatti in cui centrale è la relazione tra corpo femminile ed elementi animali/naturali dell’ecosistema: insetti, foglie, arnie artificiali, spine e materia organica si intrecciano alla carne, ai tessuti epiteliali e alle ossa in un dialogo che supera i confini tra Uomo e Natura, in un’ottica di evoluzione/mutazione congiunta e reciproca.

At a time when “change is the only permanent thing” (Zygmunt Bauman), the ability of the human being to adapt proactively to the environment becomes a conditio sine qua non for survival. Mutate just as insects do, which are believed to be among the oldest colonizers of the emerged lands, hence the first travelers. “Atlas over Arteries” by Riccardo Bandiera is a photographic project halfway between an entomological manual and a“Atlas of human geography” in which the body becomes a metaphor for a forced adaptation, provoked by the speed with which the Earth itself mutates and transforms precisely because of the actions of Man. The project collects a series of shots in which the relationship between female body and animal/natural elements of the ecosystem is central: insects, leaves, artificial hives, thorns and organic matter are intertwined with meat, to the epithelial tissues and bones in a dialogue that crosses the boundaries between Man and Nature, in a perspective of evolution/mutation combined and reciprocal.
