Queste sei foto sono parte di un progetto omonimo composto da 85 immagini, che ho realizzato nella piccola azienda metalmeccanica dove lavoro da 23 anni come tornitore e fresatore su macchine utensili. Il progetto "Otto ore" è ispirato da un'idea basata su due considerazioni; la massiccia delocalizzazione all’estero della produzione e la crescente automazione di tutti i processi del settore che hanno avuto un forte impatto sulla forza lavoro impiegata, sia eliminandola che riducendone il ruolo. Mi sono posto molte domande se fosse utile produrre questo progetto fotografico di certo non avrei prodotto nulla di originale sul mondo del lavoro ma la prevalente era il desiderio di portare una piccola realtà fuori dal contesto del mondo della lavorazione dei metalli sconosciuta ai più, volevo parlare di Cultura del Lavoro, di identità territoriale che stiamo perdendo con l'avvento negli anni duemila del nuovo dogma; la globalizzazione. L’intento è quello di indurre tutti noi a interrogarci sugli effetti negativi che la globalizzazione porta inevitabilmente con la sua incessante ricerca del profitto come obiettivo assoluto. Le radici culturali e la memoria ci fanno emergere per il nostro luogo e la nostra storia. La diversificazione culturale è un patrimonio che non possiamo disperdere, oltre la quale esiste solo l'omologazione...

These six photos are part of a project of the same name consisting of 85 images, which I took in the small metalworking company where I have been working for 23 years as a turner and miller on machine tools. The "Eight Hours" project is inspired by an idea based on two considerations; the massive relocation of production abroad and the increasing automation of all processes in the industry that have had a strong impact on the workforce employed, either by eliminating them or reducing their role. I asked myself many questions if it was useful to produce this photographic project certainly I would not have produced anything original about the world of work but the prevailing desire was to bring a small reality out of the context of the world of metalworking unknown to most, I wanted to talk about the Culture of Work, territorial identity that we are losing with the advent in the years two thousand of the new dogma, globalization. The intent is to get us all to question ourselves about the negative effects that globalization inevitably brings with its relentless pursuit of profit as the absolute goal. Cultural roots and memory make us stand out for our place and our history. Cultural diversification is a heritage that we cannot disperse, beyond which there is only homologation....
