Siamo statistiche.
Siamo puntini in una mappa del terrore.
Siamo trafiletti di giornali, ormai neanche in prima pagina. Siamo destinate a scomparire quando diamo fastidio a un marito, un amante, un padre, un fratello, a volte diamo fastidio a uno sconosciuto che ci dà fastidio per strada.
Non siamo sangue, carne, anima, pensieri, sentimenti, emozioni.
Siamo indagini di routine, lasciate a metà.
Il mio progetto nasce dall’orrore nel vedere quanti numeri, quanti nomi appaiono quando si digita la parola “femminicidio”, in tutto il mondo. Ho sentito l’urgenza di scrivere, alla mia maniera, una ennesima denuncia.
Ho chiesto a colleghe fotografe di posare per poter “incidere” sui loro corpi i nomi delle donne uccise.
Foto a grana grossa, come vecchie foto su vecchi quotidiani.
Un tatuaggio sulla nostra pelle di donne, per non dimenticare.
Un progetto che, purtroppo, sembra non finirà mai.

"We are routine investigations"
We are numbers.
We are statistics.
We are dots on a map of terror.
We are newspaper articles, now not even on the front page.
We are destined to disappear when we bother a husband, a lover, a father, a brother, sometimes we bother a stranger who bothers us on the street.
We are not blood, flesh, soul, thoughts, feelings, emotions.
We are routine investigations, left unfinished.
My project was born from the horror of seeing how many numbers, how many names appear when you type the word "femicide", all over the world. I felt the urge to write, in my own way, yet another complaint.
I asked my colleague photographers to pose to "engrave" on their bodies the names of the women killed.
Coarse-grained photos, like old photos in old newspapers.
A tattoo on our women´s skin, not to forget.
A project that, unfortunately, seems to never end.
